I’m a mother, wife, who enjoys writing as a hobby.
Coffee and booze help me get by. I absolutely love to read And fall in love with characters, I’m floored by all of the amazing and talented writers that exist on here!
I was dealing with some writer’s block issues… I read (of course I did) … that I should just keep on writing.
I love so many stories and I’m not knocking any, but I felt like so many have younger characters and such. I’m a 30something, one day I thought… where are the moms? The real-life stuff? The perfectly flawed character that other moms might relate to.
Thus, “The Fall Apart” was born.
When did you realize you wanted to be a writer?
I don’t know that I ever realized it. I have always enjoyed reading, I’ve always been a daydreamer with a fairly overactive imagination. So one day I thought I may as well give it a go. It’s a fun hobby.
When did you write your first book and how old were you?
I wrote my first book ten years ago… I was in my twenties.
How long does it take to write?
It really depends. I completed The Fall Apart in four months. Some chapters take me a few hours, while others take a few days.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I love to hang out with my family and friends. I enjoy funny memes and reading.
What was one of the most surprising you learned in creating your book?
I was most surprised that I could actually finish a book. I never thought I could do it. And I was even more surprised that people actually liked it.
What do you think makes a good story?
I love a story that is different, and one that I can relate to. But, I do like many different genres. So, anything has the potential to suck me in. There are so many amazing stories out there, I do love a writer with a unique style.
As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?
What quote inspired you and your life by?
” Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring” –Marilyn Monroe
What Movie or series character would you say describe you as a person?
I’d say a solid mix between Annie from Bridesmaids and Carla from Bad Moms.
What song inspires you?
It depends on my mood. I can get down with mostly any music, though I’d argue that the best tunes are from to 90’s
When you wrote your first book. What inspired the story?
I was reading so many stories where the characters were young and they’d fall crazy in love, which is great. But I wanted to show the story after the crazy love story.
What inspired your characters in your first book and were they based on people in your life?
I wanted Alex from The Fall Apart to be someone other women could relate to and understand. I took parts of myself and friends etc.
Would you change anything from your first book?
If there is a message in any of your books, what would you like people to take away from reading your book?
Just that life and kids and marriage aren’t easy. That it’s better to talk about things than bottle them up. Also… to not take life too seriously!
Why is reading a book better than watching the movie?
I love to read a book because I can let my imagination go wild.
If they make a movie of your book who would you like to play your main character.
Oh gosh, no clue. Would definitely need to be someone funny.
Do you like to read ebooks or paperback?
I like either, but there is something about holding an actual book that I love.
Who is your favourite author?
Tell the people about your book and what it is about.
“The Fall Apart” is about a married couple who has been together for years with kids, it talks about the struggles of marriage and real life while the main character, “Alex” reflects on her past independently and with her husband, Jake.
“Ties” is my current WIP. kind of a wild and fun love story.
Any unknown author you would recommend.
There are soooo many on Wattpad. I’d say check out my reading lists and you will find a ton of treasures. It’s amazing.
Alex and Jake were straight out of high school sweethearts.
They beat the odds. Survived the college years apart.
The happily ever after.
